Question: A drug addict can get welfare with no problem, but a 1st time mom can't?

I had made several posts about our problem. After getting great advice from everyone I marched into social services and was told that someone had taken our case and that everything would be okay. 2 weeks later, rent is not paid still, we are almost our of food, and we haven't gotten a letter from them about our case. I called and was told that our case is pending. Pending??? Why? Our baby is due any day now, and our case isn't good enough? I have been trying to be so strong, but how when we can't get the help we need right now? I have seen drug addicts walk in to the welfare office and walk out with everything right then and there!!! Why is our case taking so long??? Is it because we don't have any past records? Because our records are clean? Maybe its because we actually have had jobs and work hard for what we have! But wait, yet they are telling us we have to wait! We have to just f*cking sit here and wait for them to determine if we are eligible or not?! Up untill these past couple of months my tax dollars have gone to help those on welfare! And yet here I am needing help and Im pretty much being turned away!!!! I am glad that my landlord is so patient, but he won't be too much longer...then what will happen? If the state won't help me then who do I turn to? This government sux! Why is it that all the lazy people get the help but the ones who are really struggling and need the help are turned away?!

Try birth control as opposed to having a child you obviously can't afford. Then blaming the welfare office for not supporting you. If you worked you would either still be working or you would be on unemployment. Maybe the man you got pregnant by could help providing this was a planned pregnancy. You sound like a full fledged welfare recipient.

Yes its the same every were just start taking drugs mugging people and assaulting police then you too will get all of life's rewards

Yepper. Sorry to tell ya that those that don't have ANYTHING are always pushed to the front of the line, regardless of if they have nothing because of stupidity on THEIR part. I was in the same situation a while ago and watched as a guy that bums smokes near my apartment complex spent OVER 300 bucks in food stamps while I had to put stuff back because I didn't have enough cash. Or like the lady at the grocery store the other day that asked my husband and I if we would be willing to cash 250 of HER food stamps for the cash!!! My only advice to you honey is stay on them! Call every day if you have to, I know it's a pain because of work and stuff but sadly those of us schmucks that work have no other choice. Call a few of the food banks in your area, they can also help. WIC is pretty good too, as far as getting what you need from them taken care of quickly. Churches are another option, they sometimes have money available to help folks like you and your family with paying back rent and stuff. Good luck and God bless
