I cannot even pretend to speak for these facilities, though I think you may run into a brick wall, here. Because of the nature of the function these facilities serve and the privacy issues involved, I doubt seriously that a 'field trip tour' will be granted. You can call such facilities in your area and ask, and I'll just about guarantee that they will opt for sending someone with brochure-type information to your location to speak of their facility and it's function/ methods. No such facility will allow you mass contact with patients. Their patients are there being treated for a disorder, and thier focus on their rehabilitation is vital to the success of the program. You might consider asking these facilities if they can recommend a graduate of thier program to lecture your class, but I truly believe that what you are asking is more than any reputable treatment facility is likely to consider appropriate. |
